The Road to Gold Certification
The Positive Planet Certified Gold Standard is reserved for organisations that demonstrate not only a commitment to sustainability but also measurable, high-level progress in minimising their environmental footprint. To achieve Gold, Bartec has met and surpassed the following criteria:
Accelerated Path to Net Zero: We remain steadfast in our mission to achieve Net Zero by 2040. This target is a core pillar of our corporate strategy and is clearly outlined in our Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP).
100% Renewable Energy Infrastructure: Our headquarters operates under a comprehensive renewable energy contract. We have effectively eliminated nearly all non-renewable electricity consumption. To address the small margin of irregular offsite charging, our Sustainable Travel Policy now strictly mandates a preference for offsite charging via renewable networks, ensuring our transition to green energy is absolute.
Expanding Carbon Literacy: Education is key to cultural change. While our Silver accreditation noted a 25% trained workforce, we have since expanded our Carbon Literacy Training. With more staff and C-suite members now fully certified, we are fostering a workforce that is empowered to make carbon-conscious decisions in their daily roles.
Industry-Leading Customer Engagement: We continue to leverage our platform to advocate for a greener waste management sector. Through our newsletters, social media, and sustainable events, we help Local Authorities understand how digital transformation directly correlates with carbon savings.
