Lichfield District Council and Tamworth Borough Council Launch #RecycleForGood

Bartec Municipal Technologies Sponsors New Recycling Campaign aimed at Encouraging Local Children to Recycle

Bartec Municipal Technologies is proud to support a new recycling initiative launched by Lichfield District Council and Tamworth Borough Council. The campaign, titled #RecycleForGood, aims to educate and inspire young people to become champions of recycling.

Engaging the Next Generation

The campaign will involve a dedicated recycling advisor visiting local schools to deliver interactive sessions on the importance of recycling and how to do it correctly. By providing hands-on learning experiences, the campaign seeks to instil a lifelong commitment to sustainable practices in young minds.

Sessions will be held over the next 12 months, with communication packs being filtered into schools so they can secure their spot.

A Digital Dimension

To further enhance the learning experience, an educational online game called ‘Recycle Rush’ has been developed. This fun and interactive game will teach children about the benefits of recycling in an engaging and entertaining way.

The aim of the game is to sort the rubbish into the correct bins, separating general waste from garden waste and recyclable materials. Children have 90 seconds to put the item in the correct bin. A correct move will award you with a point, but a wrong move will deduct a point. It’s a race against the clock!

Local Authorities will be able to customise the game to ensure that the colours of the bins match those in the school’s local area so children will learn how to separate their waste appropriately.

A Shared Vision for a Sustainable Future

Councillor David Foster, Tamworth borough council’s portfolio holder for environmental, sustainability, recycling and waste, said:

“I’m delighted to see how this campaign is being led by our residents, and in particular our local children. It is so humbling to see school children voicing their passion about the benefits of recycling and how important it is to protect our environment for the future.

“I’m sure that this campaign will demonstrate how we can all help recycle better and make permanent changes to have a real positive impact on making our communities cleaner and greener. Making small changes in our recycling habits can make a huge difference on our future.”

Talking about the campaign, Tim Hobbs, CEO of Bartec Municipal Technologies, said:

“We’re excited to support the Recycle For Good campaign, a fresh and forward-thinking initiative that mirrors our commitment to putting residents at the heart of innovation. Like our own Collective platforms, this campaign is designed to inspire real change, making recycling more accessible, efficient, and community driven.

“Together, we are championing a smarter, more sustainable future – one where every resident plays a vital role in shaping a cleaner, greener world. We are looking forward to being part of this campaign over the coming year and to see the impact it will have on recycling performance.”

Committed to Change

By supporting this campaign, Bartec Municipal Technologies reinforces its commitment to promoting sustainable practices and inspiring positive change within communities.

We believe in helping councils to improve their municipal services by streamlining their waste management operations. By implementing our waste management software, Collective, local authorities can enhance recycling by promoting efficient, consistent collections of waste for their residents. Our Collective portal will allow residents to easily view their waste collection schedules and manage their subscriptions.

We know that increasing the amount of waste that gets properly recycled begins with individuals. Campaigns like #RecycleForGood are so important for promoting sustainability as they encourage the next generation to acquire better habits that should stay with them for the rest of their lives, for a greener tomorrow and a more sustainable future.
