Powys County Council is the largest unitary authority in Wales, covering around 2,000 square miles. The large, rural area has the lowest population density in Wales and creates a unique challenge for waste collection services.
Powys have added route optimisation to their existing Collective system to further improve the reliability and efficiency of services. The new optimisation functions will be used to create efficient collection routes for their domestic and commercial waste operations.
With almost 600 routes to optimise and manage the integration to Collective is a key feature, ensuring that the route optimisation is always working from accurate models. Vehicle speeds, participation rates, assisted collections and single / double-sided collection decisions will always be up-to-date so no matter how fast the service changes, FleetRoute is able to continually model the best collection routes.
