Collective Newsfeed

Collective Newsfeed is an optional module for the Resident’s Portal, giving waste and recycling teams new and exciting ways to contact their users quickly, effectively and at very low cost.

Waste and recycling services are changing rapidly. Residents are being asked to do more with their waste. This might mean putting it out on a different day, separating specific materials or adopting new containers. The days of avoiding contact are over – councils must inform, incentivise and inspire their residents to engage with new ways of thinking about waste.

Features and Functionality

Collective Newsfeed is a fast-developing platform for resident communications, including

  • Live newsfeed dedicated to waste and recycling
  • Publishing social-media style posts to some or all your residents with images, links and dynamic content
  • Targetting posts at specific segments of users – e.g. those with garden waste subscriptions, in a specific ward or with recent non-presentation
  • Automating messages direct from crew feedback- including push notifications and emails for contamination, bins not out or completion of a bulky waste collection.

Message Templates

Authorised users can create templates and use them with different triggers to send news items.

Templates can be attached to Street-level events (such as ‘Street Blocked – Snow’), to Premises-level events such as ‘Bin Lost in Vehicle’ or to Service Request events (such as ‘Bin Delivery’ completion).

Whenever a crew report a specified issue or a Service Request moves to a particular status, Collective Newsfeed will send the message to affected users, either in the Newsfeed stream or as a push notification.

Segments

You can create many different segments of users based on a variety of criteria. For example ‘All users in LS10 post code with more than one residual bin’. These segments can be set as targets for automatic and manual news items.

Collective Newsfeed includes role-based security to ensure only authorised users can configure and send items to Newsfeed. These roles include:
