Portsmouth City Council bring waste and recycling services in house with Bartec Municipal Technologies

Portsmouth City Council bring waste and recycling services in house with Bartec Municipal Technologies

In April 2024, Portsmouth City Council will begin operating an ‘in-house’ waste and recycling service when the current contract with Biffa ends. Collective, from Bartec Municipal Technologies, will underpin the service, managing scheduled and reactive work and providing real-time information to residents via the Collective Resident’s Portal.

The fleet of over 30 refuse collection vehicles will be fitted with CollectiveX in-cab systems to guide collection crews along their routes and automatically update key service data. Safety and security is enhanced with integrated on-board video from Contel.
